As you know, our astronomers have found a plenty of star systems with potentially habitable exoplanets. A few systems were selected from this enormous number of them. In these systems, the number of habitable exoplanets and exomoons is much more than one. The Arks were sent there. We have no information of the other expeditions fates, and it will be years before we have any. Unfortunately, the remote sensing methods of studying distant planets are not perfect and we are not lucky — not a single of the nearby planets is completely suitable for life, and terraforming of the most "friendly" one would take several centuries.
In any case, our situation leaves much to be desired: to slowly rot in hibernation with no chance of waking up, to live under domes (it concerns not only us, but our distant descendants too — they will suffer the same fate, plus we'll have to limit the birthrate to avoid overcrowded hell on this planet), or... to fly further. This ship has the other expeditions' coordinates, and our destination will be the one which is likely to be successful. Yes, we'll lose a few more years in hibernation, but that's the way it is...
Unfortunately, there is one or, to be exact, two problems. The first one is the workers' faction. And their unhealthy desire to return to Earth. Who needs them there after so many years? They can't give this question a proper answer. But they need a ship for such a journey, as well as we do. The second problem is the military faction, they decided to become dictators and jailers instead of being policemen, as they're supposed to. Well, if they want to live under domes and eat the several-times-processed food, it's their right, but they don't want to give the most affordable source of energy in this system — Helium-3. They need it for the terraforming process. Apparently, they lack brains to build simple power plants...
In any case, Doc, it's necessary to do everything steadily and with minimal losses. We are outnumbered, a few workers and military that joined us make no difference. The main objectives are to collect as much fuel to fill up the Ark and to deal with its control system. Yes, the designers of these ships have provided for such crew disputes. Apparently, they could have done it better. The ship belongs to everybody, yet nobody. It'll take a long time before we break into the system to be able to set the new coordinates and fly further without the consent of the military and workers' leadership. We are sure that you cope with this. Good luck, Doc.
